You forgot who you were. You forgot everything. Only echoes remain. They are haunting you. Voices in your head are mumbling words you cannot understand. Everything inside you is fading away. Piece by piece. Slowly fading away.

You are the Forgotten. Roam this desperate sphere in decay in search of yourself. Collect enough Fragments to remember who you once were.

Sphere and Souls is my personal take on the soulslike solo TTRPG genre.
It’s a game of wandering through ruins, fighting hollowed beings, dying, reviving, and slowly piecing back who you used to be.

You will die often. You will forget often.
And yet, something within you will remain — a single word, a vague image, a memory refusing to fade.
Each Fragment you recover brings you closer to remembering yourself.

This game is not about victory.
It’s about persistence, loss, and the quiet beauty of what still lingers.

How to play

All you need is a d6 and a d4.
The PDF includes everything you need to play several cycles of life, death, and remembrance.

You will:

  • Create the Forgotten and explore a world divided into four decaying realms.

  • Face monstrous echoes and Twisted Masters.

  • Collect Souls to evolve or burn them into Fragments of memory.

  • Write down what you remember in the Lantern Room, the only place untouched by the reset.

The world changes with each cycle.
Enemies grow stronger.
But so do you.

I wrote Sphere and Souls as a meditative descent into loss and identity — a minimalist pilgrimage through ruin and memory.

Inspired by the haunting beauty of Dark Souls, the solitude of Wretched & Alone, and the meditative tone of journal RPGs.
